Grexel’s new solution G-REX had a strong first year

Grexel’s next generation registry platform G-REX went live 23.12.2021. Today it hosts domains for all REDII energy carriers as well as voluntary carbon removal certificates and handles significant volumes of certificates issuance, transfer and cancellation each day. It is also connected to both AIB and ERGaR hubs.

23.12.2021 was a big milestone for Grexel. We had been developing our new, API first designed platform for years and in the end of 2021 G-REX went live in production. To make things even more interesting, it went live for the Guarantees of Origin for heating and cooling in Hamburg area. It was one of the very first registry solutions for Guarantees of Origin for heating and cooling in the world.

Since then, G-REX has grown. After the first year, Guarantees of Origin for all the RED II energy carriers (hydrogen, biogas, heating and cooling as well as electricity) are managed there. G-REX is also connected to both the AIB and the ERGaR hubs, allowing fluid international trade for Guarantees of Origin.

“2022 was an extraordinary year in the history of Grexel. We implemented 4 new registries while 2 more are well under way. We also made a technological paradigm shift from CMO.grexel launched in 2009 to G-REX. All of this is solely thanks to our dynamite team of inspired, warm and ingenious people. I couldn’t be prouder of being your colleague and our new product.” , CEO of Grexel Markus Klimscheffskij notes with a smile.

We are ready to pick up the pace even more next year. We will phase out our older platform, CMO.grexel and migrate our current customers to the G-REX as well as continue to implement G-REX for new customers. Also, both the Swedish and Swiss Guarantees of Origin will be managed on G-REX next year. All this will make G-REX the most common platform for management of Guarantees of Origin in Europe by the end of the first half of 2023.
