Hydrogen certification goes cloud!

CertifHy™ develops high-quality hydrogen certification schemes across Europe. CertifHy™ certificates are a reliable tool for consumers to track hydrogen’s origin and environmental attributes, which supports the market growth of hydrogen.

Since 2018, CertifHy™ certificates have been issued in the CMO.grexel registry under the CertifHy project with the aim of piloting hydrogen certification in Europe. Already well over 100 GWh of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production has been certified!

Last week, voluntary hydrogen certification under the CertifHy project took a giant leap towards compliance with CEN 16325 as the registry was migrated from the CMO.grexel platform to G-REX. G-REX is Grexel’s new cloud-based registry solution, built with 100% RED II compliance and API-first approach. It is a single solution for managing all RED II energy carrier certificates.

Matthieu Boisson, CertifHy project coordinator, says: “We are excited to see CertifHy now running on G-REX which is going to provide more features to our Account Holders while retaining the insurance of compliance with the highest standards available. This is going to further accelerate the development of CertifHy NGC and hydrogen certification in general.”

Markus Klimscheffskij, CEO of Grexel, comments: “Getting the CertifHy registry to G-REX is an important step for us. It’s the first registry in G-REX dedicated to hydrogen and makes it possible to issue RED II compliant hydrogen certificates. As a scalable solution G-REX is fully prepared to handle any future needs of hydrogen certification.”
