The Serbian Registry solution continues on Grexel platforms
Grexel and Serbian Issuing Body EMS continue their long cooperation on the Serbian Guarantees of Origin. Grexel and EMS have worked together since the dawn of Serbian Guarantees of Origin in 2011.
The Serbian system has developed a lot in the past 10 years. The development of the Serbian market has been characterized by their active approach to international co-operation. They have for instance joined the Association of Issuing Bodies in 2020. Grexel has been proud to support EMS in this development work.
“I first travelled to Serbia in 2012 and have loved working with EMS ever since. The cooperation has always been hands on and seamless. As the pioneer they are, EMS is already connected to the AIB hub. We look forward to supporting the development of international trade of Guarantees of Origin in Serbia also in the years to come”, says Markus Klimscheffskij, the CEO of Grexel.
Grexel has provided the Serbian registry system since 2017. Currently roughly 35% of Serbian energy is produced with renewable energy sources and GOs are issued only for approximately 10% of the total production. Issuing volumes increase constantly and EMS is expecting significant growth in transfer volumes.
“EMS is satisfied with cooperation with Grexel, and we are satisfied with all proper and quick reactions on our requests towards Grexel. We are eager to continue the work in introduction of G-REX in our regular work and in work of introduction of this system to our Producers and Suppliers. We expect that with new system we can offer a better service to our Account Holders” says Nikola Tošić, the Head of Market Development and Administration Department in JSC EMS Belgrade.
Both EMS and Grexel are looking forward to enabling this market development together in the future.
